Soprano Pamela Andrews will present her Master of Music Graduation recital on Thursday 11th November at 2pm in Llewellyn Hall at the ANU School of Music, Childers St, Canberra. The concert, which also features pianist Alan Hicks and associate artists Ellen Malone (mezzo-soprano) and Bronwyn Douglas (mezzo-soprano) will feature an aria from Matthew Dewey’s work-in-progress opera about the Danish Astronomer Tycho Brahe. In August 2007 at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music, two of Matthew Dewey’s chamber operas will be featured in concert, jointly produced by the IHOS Music Theatre Laboratory and the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music. The operas, ‘The Buzz of the Sea’and ‘The Death of Chatterton’ will be performed by some of Tasmania’s leading talents: Baritones Christopher Richardson and Michael Lampard and the fantastic pianist Karen Smithies.
