String Symphony underway for Hobart Chamber Orchestra Commission

The Hobart Chamber Orchestra have commissioned a new work from Matthew Dewey to be played in two concerts featuring all new music in mid-2008. The piece, a string symphony in three movements, will be somewhere in the duration of 15 to 17 minutes and reflects on the history and environment of the Tasman Peninsula region. Matthew has been called in at the last minute to assist on the premiere of Tom Holloway’s new play about the Port Arthur incident, ‘Beyond The Neck’.
